THE FIRST ZINE: KATARZIS
KATARZIS is a zine I worked on in May struck by creative inspiration after listening to music by the Lithuanian post-punk band Katarsis. I have always liked the idea of a catharsis ,and this is the idea of the zine: a complete spiritual purge, death, rebirth. In the zine, I combine imagery and poetry from different cultures that evoke or illustrate a catharsis.
METHODOLOGY
The zine was created using royalty free images that were then heavily modified on Photoshop. I use poetry and music lyrics from dfferent cultures in different languages like Latin, Korean, Italian, Bulgarian. Those artists are credited on the page with their artwork.
